The Most Reliable Lawn Mowing Service in Hutto, TX

Veteran-owned and based right here in Hutto, Troops Mowing runs two mowing crews on fixed routes across Hutto, Round Rock, Georgetown and Pflugerville. Your yard gets a scheduled day, a crew that shows up on it, and the same standard every time — mow, string-trim, edge, mulch the clippings back in, blow the walkways clean, close the gate.

Pricing is simple: we measure your serviceable square footage on Google Maps and send an exact per-visit price by email and text. Bi-weekly is our default schedule; during April through June some lawns need weekly service to keep up with growth, and you’re notified before anything changes. No contracts — if you don’t need your lawn cut in December, you don’t pay for December.

Most lawn care companies show up when they feel like it. We run on a schedule, sharpen our blades at least twice a week, and treat your yard like it’s our own.

Frequently asked questions

Lawn Mowing FAQs

How much does lawn mowing cost in Hutto, TX and surrounding areas?
Pricing is based on your yard size and how often you want your lawn serviced. Smaller lots on a weekly schedule cost less per visit; larger yards on a bi-weekly schedule need more cleanup time, so pricing reflects that. Small Yard (0–4,000 sq ft): Weekly $45 · Bi-weekly $52 Medium Yard (4,000–7,000 sq ft): Weekly $58 · Bi-weekly $68 Large Yard (7,000–10,000 sq ft): Weekly $72 · Bi-weekly $88 Prices reflect lawn mowing service in Hutto, Georgetown, Round Rock and Pflugerville, TX. Yards over 10,000 sq ft are quoted individually.
How often should my lawn be mowed near Hutto, TX?
During peak growing season in Texas (roughly March through October), most lawns need mowing every 7–14 days. Want a genuinely great lawn? Weekly mowing paired with a solid weed control program and proper irrigation is the formula. Bi-weekly works fine if the goal is just keeping it clean and your HOA happy. Grass type (Bermuda, St. Augustine), rainfall and temperature all play a role too.
Are there any hidden fees?
No hidden fees — your quoted price is what you pay per visit. There are three situational charges worth knowing about up front: Overgrown fee — if your lawn hasn’t been maintained and needs significantly more work than a standard visit, an overgrown fee of 75% of your regular visit price applies. We always communicate this before charging it. Same-day cancellation — to skip a visit we ask for written notice the day before. Cancel the day of and a $25 fee applies; cancel the service entirely before your second visit and a $50 fee applies. April–June frequency change — during peak growth some lawns need to move from bi-weekly to weekly. If that applies to your yard, we notify you by email and text before any pricing or schedule change.
Do I need to be home, and how should I prepare for a visit?
You don’t need to be home. Three quick requests: keep pets indoors during the visit, make sure the back gate is unlocked on your service day, and pick up any loose debris or toys from the lawn so the crew can move efficiently. If we can’t access part of the property (locked gate, pets outside), we service the accessible areas and the visit is still billed at full price, since the un-serviced area takes extra time next visit.
Do you bag the clippings?
Grass clippings are mulched back into the yard on every visit — it returns nutrients to the soil and keeps the lawn looking clean. Clippings on driveways, sidewalks and walkways are blown off before we leave.
Why do you sharpen your blades twice a week?
Most crews don’t. Dull blades tear grass instead of cutting it, which opens the door to disease and brown tips. A sharp blade leaves a clean cut that heals fast and looks better for the whole week.
